Introduction
After having a glimpse of the Dudhsagar waterfalls, you will realise the significance of its name. Dudhsagar is a Konkani word that translated to the sea of milk. It is a magnificent waterfall whose waters resemble milk gushing from a height of 1017 feet. Thus, creating white spray and foam giving a milky appearance. It is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Goa. Every year thousands of tourists visit the wonderful waterfall to indulge in heavenly bliss.
The waterfall is a part of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary located in the Sanguem taluka. Traveling to the falls is possible only by foot or through a bumpy track often used by the jeeps organizing tours. Trekking to the waterfall from the Castle Rock Station in Karnataka is the most preferable route. From Margao railway station, the location is 48 kilometers away. Panjim is 72 kilometers, and the Goa International Airport is 73 kilometers away from the waterfall.
Best time to visit
The waterfall is at its best during the monsoon season. Thus, tourists should visit the natural wonderland from June to September. Nevertheless, round the year, the forests are lust, and the water is available so, one can plan a trip at any time of the year.
